Bad Beats in Poker

You find yourself being playing at one those online poker tournaments and you are dealt great cards on your opening hand. You raise your bet and some opponents call. The flop cards come and you have fairly good cards. It is checked and you then place a decent bet. The turn card is 10c and you place another bet which causes your opponents to call. Finally the river shows up as a Ac. Now the player before you paces their bet. You decide to call which leads to him showing his cards and they complete the nut flush. This has lead you to realize that you made a bad beat.

When playing Poker bad beats happen when a supposedly good hand you are holding gets beat by another hand. In fact, this is the type of hand that catches the draw on the river; and at the beginning of the game it may be the wrong play. This is a common phenomenon when playing low limit games due to opportunistic players hoping to get lucky with the last two cards. Many average players often play for an ace and some just go for any cards of the same suit. Some players will forever putting chips in the middle towards the river anticipating the best draw turns up. There are times they create the hands they hold and you find yourself a bad beat.

You just have to accept bad beats as a part of the game. At some point in time, you are likely to get busted when the river card plays by opportunistic players. You may lose what in the pot by way of a bad beat but your consistent play may beat them most of the time. At the online poker websites, there are probably more of such occurrences. When faced with such players, your bankroll will fluctuate quite a bit but your winning will become bigger and more regular.
